My pop-up blocker is on but I keep getting ads from Winfix, Drivecleaner and all sorts of casinos etc. If you click on cancel for some of them they download software anyway. I have tried re-installing all Yahoo software. Also when i open links they open in very small new windows. Have I got a virus that is not being detected?

its not a virus, its mallware
you need to download, and run in this order

cwshredder
spybot sd
adaware se

now, this still might not work, depending on how bad your comp is, in which case, find a boffin, to put it right..

Yahoo'ssecurity is horrible. Since i have had it on my computer i have had more viruses and problems. I eventually got some third party software that does a lot better than yahoo ever did. Just to let you know how bad it got, Yahoo security let through a virus that required me to reformat my hard drive in order to ever use my computer again.

Do you use Microsoft Internet Explorer? If so then convert to Mozilla Firefox. I used to use MSIE & would get loads of pop-ups, but I convertes to Firefox about 4 months ago & I haven't received any since.

Also, If you use a filesharing network application like Kazaa, you will get loads of pop-ups. Convert to Limewire to solve this problem.

I highly recommend you download SUPERantispyware. It will fix that problem. It is VERY VERY effective and it is free.
