its a common misconception...if you stand on a cockroach that has eggs on its back then you crush and kill the eggs along with the cockroach. The eggs may well stick to your shoes but alas they will be dead.

Well as for your question I'm not sure possible likely due to the fact that they are asexual 2: you can squash them sever their head from their body and they will a grow a new body from severed head or b grow a new head from severed body if left alone after severing the parts for about a month that will happen 3: you can freeze a cockroach for as long as you want and take it out of the freezer and once they have thawed they will begin to move again and scurry about. so in the end i would truly think that if the world was wiped out by nuclear means the cockroach's would be left to rule the world these bugger are near invincible!

Yes if the cockroach you stood on was a female one. So if you must kill a creature like a cockroach do it with an insect spray and then incinerate the body to make sure the eggs are destroyed as well.

Funny you should ask this question....I am in Taiwan and I saw two cockroaches in the act on the kitchen wall - I sprayed them both with Raid - one was their back on the floor this morning the other went off and died!
It is true - not many people know this. I got told that you are supposed to burn them - very cruel but it stops them breeding!
It is a myth that cockroaches only go to dirty houses - maybe in England/States, but certainly not in Asia.

Maybe if it was a female roach with ready to lay eggs in her abdomen, they'll attach to you're shoe
But this isn't really true, and shouldn't stop you from stomping on one.
