If I go in a room with closed eyes and keep on yelling why is it so dark ? Why have the switch been hidden ? People like you will laugh.

This is same as what every human is doing. He tries to search for GOD, with his limited knowledge and using best tools that a Human can make use of it.

One needs to go beyond that. One possible way to meet GOD is meditation. Again, meeting here does not mean u see him and chat with him. Just open your eyes wide and for once think that it is not necessary that GOD should take a shape for you to see it. You can always feel him.

You may not like what I am going to say .

But you asked, so here it goes.

First, I have no doubt that god exists. Not because I am Religious, but because I discovered a force that fits the criteria for a god. It has to be the force that is responsible for the creation of the heavens as well as the earth and all the living things. Further, it has to be the force that governs all that was and all that will be.

I do not have a philosophical answer to why I think this way, but I do have a scientific bases. Here me out, and then I will answer your question in a philosophical manner.

This force can be found by studing the structure of the atom; including protons, neutrons and electrons. The atomic and subatomic forces like the week and the strong force. If you have the time, money, patients and interest, You may even learn about quarks, bosons and leptons (elementary particles). As you watch and study these particles of energy, like those who have traveled this journey before, including Einstein, you will come to the realization that you are looking at god. For the forces that you "see" are the ones responsible for the creation of the heavens as well as the earth and all the living things.

Now to answer your question, Why is it so difficult to discover god? I will agree, it was difficult.

I'm pretty sure that this force could become even more clear to us, than it already does. I'm not saying it doesn't already do a good job. After all, look around and observe the miracle of life, that is all around us: That is a big big hint. Still, I think he makes himself a bit elusive as a kind of "test": His way of sifting through us, to determine which of us are worthy of the next phase: Whatever that might be.

Who knows, one day he may make a creature that is able to recognize him easily. Just like one day we might make a computer that can recognize us. I borrowed this analogy from one of your answers: Hope you dont' mind.

Great Man, I think I can answer this question without bringing religion into it, as EVERYONE has done in their previous answers above, to some extent or another. When we refer to God, we generally refer to a higher being the is at a total and much more advanced level of existence than we are. Whatever shape of form this Being takes is not important at the moment, for we first need to understand ourselves before we can begin to understand such a complex Being. No one can prove that this Being exists or does not, whatever religion says is a waste of time. Even Jesus and the great prophets knew this, they turned against the beliefs of their times and were persecuted for it. Now the church perverts the words of Jesus for their own glory, concentratin on his death and not on his life. As Jesus pointed out for instance, and so have philosophers such as Plato, Socrates and Ghandi, God on earth is chosing the right choice and creating a society of equality among all man, a just a fair system that oppresses no one. As for God the Being, thats much more difficult to answer. This Being is not hidden but as I said earlier, He/She/It is on a much more evolved an advanced level of existence. For instance, when youre walking on the sidewalk, do the ants acknowledge the existence of this more advanced creature walking above them? You're standing right above them yet they dont know you're there. Even if you step on one, its death will be a mystery to the other ants. Don't expect this Being to try to communicate on our primitive level, after all, we dont discuss politics and philosphy with chickens do we? There is indirect evidence that this Being might exist, through the functioning of the universe and the fact the goodness must exist in some form some how. Trying to find this Being however is the greatest challenge mankind will ever face.

The cornerstone of religion is faith. Without a capacity for doubt faith is meaningless. It doesn't require any strength of character to say, believe in cows, because any time you take a drive in the country you will see cows. When someone serves God, even for the most devout there is always the possibility, somewhere in the back of their mind, that they are living a lie. To put it another way, no one would be a sinner if we walked past the gate of Hell on the way to work every day. This life is a test. A test of faith.

Because that will be the ultimate test . It is the human nature that we need things to be simple and in our face to accept that . We don't want to work for our rewards but being a parent or a teacher we all know that the bigger the reward the more effort should it require. If a god exist , then he must be the best thing ever and any where , he has be in our face all over the place but it should not be simple for us to find him.

He has shown himself. He is not hidden. God does not have to prove anything to us, but he has shown himself to us with birth's of babies, natural wonders, and the amazing things the men have achieved on this earth over thousands of years. If you believe that we are here because some rocks banged together at the beginning of time, I belive that too...except that someone had tomake that happen. Someone put those dust particles here for that to happen. It's called faith.

Oh Goodness you're clueless about religion
But anyway who said God was hiding?
What made you think he's hiding
Don't look for him with your eyes
Look for him with your heart and soul
He's everywhere you just too blind to see him because you look for him through your eyes
