Lots and lots of good food in Singapore.
Someone mentioned laksa, that's great nyonya food. Definitely try it.

Bannan leaf curry. Many Indian restaurants specialize in this. They use a big bannan leaf as a plate then plot down rice, usually a couple of veggie curries and dowse the rice with some sort of curry sauce. You can usually order meat curries to go with it. I like Murtha's curry on race course road. yummy.

Chicken rice can be delicious too, although sometimes it is a bit boring. Basically it's chicken, rice cooked in chicken broth and some chicken broth. It's served with a thick soy sauce and a chilli sauce. Been a while since I've been there so I can't rememeber a good place but check out:

It's got good information.

Oh, can't forget those wonderful SriLankan crabs, try curry crabs or pepper crabs at one of those places on East Coast road. Not cheap but very very good.

Yes... I have! I used to live there when I was a baby... really nice there. So clean, and the people are friendly and the shopping is good.

The best place I've had food is in this place called Newton's Circus... it's this big outdoor food market... they have all sorts from seafood, to meat and vegetarian things. The taste is amazing and it has an awesome atmosphere.

If you haven't been there don't be put off by the people that sort of rush at you... just find an area that has a few stalls you're interested in and sit at a table. People will come up to you and tell you what they sell and take your order. You can get food from lots of different stalls during one meal, then you pay each stall what you owe and go on your merry way.

Especially try grilled Tiger Prawns... soooo tasty!

The first time I tried Laksa was 3 years ago at the old Wisma Atria Food Court. I'm sure it's not the best Laksa in Singapore but to me that was the best I have tasted. I have had laksa on every trip I have made to Singapore, I even had laksa for every meal in one of my trips there last year. I just love Laksa so much!

A few times... Most memorable is the Tau Huay near Bugis I think ( forget the road name, but there used to be queues ) and O Luak at Newton :)
Ohhh just too many to choose.... the Yu Sheng Porridge in Chinatown is also very good... not sure if its still there though aint been back in quite a few years and also the Duck Rice off Pasir Panjang Road at Zehnder Road haha. Its a miracle I am not the size of a float after vacuuming all that food... LOVE IT!

Fried Salmon rice which was at the old food court at Funan IT Mall. Unfortunately, the store owner moved away and since couldn't find him. No other fried salmon rice tasted as nice as his.

Hawker food is the best but depends which hawker centre you go to!

The Laksa at Katong area is very nice and spicy. You will like it if you like spicy food. Only Singapore and Malaysia do sell Laksa.
