I've had problems with lying as well as strange as it may sound. In the business realm, it's financial suicide to be honest and blunt all the time.

When I first moved into the Los Angeles area, I was very naive because I came from a small rural town. I was taught with traditional values where you don't lie.

Unfortunately, that model doesn't work very well in business where it's necessary to keep your finances secret. Telling people how much money you have is like walking down a street with a huge sign on your head saying how much money you've got in your wallet or purse. It makes you a target for being mugged.

I was raised in a living situation where my high school friends never asked me for money. So I never had to worry about developing the skill of saying no. I ran into some "bad borrowers" that would always ask if I had money.

They'd always express urgency and how they were really in dire straits and if I could help them out. Because I was a "nice" person, I had a hard time saying no.

When I stopped volunteering information of how much money I had, these same bad borrowers were good at reading me because I was a terrible liar. So they'd proceed with expressing urgency and how they really needed the money.

I had to learn the hard way on how you have to take a business approach. Some would claim that you're lying when you tell people you don't have money when there is in fact money in your bank account.

However, you have to allocate financial resources and cord off that which is not available. So even if you have $500 in your bank account and your friend is trying to borrow $300, it's not a lie or a sin if you say you don't have any money to give because you know you've got an Electrical Bill, Utility Bill, Car Insurance, and such that need to be paid.

Corporations do it all the time. Employees ask for raises and there is money in the bank to accommodate that. However, employers will look at the budget. If it's not in the budget, they say no. It doesn't matter if there's $4 milllion sitting in the bank. The budget states that it's unavailable.

You don't need to learn how to lie really. It's just about knowing how to organize information.

Some people are like that. They can not lie.

I myself cannot lie. If I want to say, it will be shown on my face, which will be easily understood by family members. Even I cannot cheat, and if I do so, some how, I smile and they will know,

I AGREE that some time we have to tell lies, which we cannot.
Certainly this would field us in difficult situations. However, we have to face it.

You need to practice to perfect it ( kidding). Well one factor was the way your were brought up by your folks. When you're a wee child your folks told you that lying was sin and therefore you cant go to heaven for that. So everytime you try to lie you feel guilty. And it shows in your face.
