they certainly are a dying breed . yes , i am in Southern Cali , and there are still a few out here , and i attend as often as possible . the real estate prices are making them tougher to find all of the time .

I love the drive-in, there is one about 1/2hrs drive, away from where I am. Mostly we go during the summer time, we take some chairs, food and sit out under the stars and watch the movie.

I LOVE drive-ins!! If I can find one, I make sure I go. I will not go to theaters to see movies (I'll usually rent them), because inconsiderate people talk over the movie, people's children cry and whine and fidget, cell phones ring, the people in front of you are always too tall, the food and the tickets are too expensive, and you cannot smoke.
With drive-ins you don't have to worry about any of this! They are cheap, you can bring your own food, you can smoke, and you can roll up your windows and block the rest of the noisy world out!

I think they are all gone from my area. The last one I went to was in the late 1980's. I went with 3 vans full of people to an all night long 3 Stooges film festival.

If we lived in a calmer day and time then it would be great to have drive -ins again...I remember them when i was young ...and they were alot of fun ....to see everyone on their cars..enjoying a movie in a summery night breeze..enjoying snacks...it was a more pleasant time then....but now ...these days it could never be like that ...too many ignorant people in this world ...of all races....very sad is what that is ....

We have one drive in left here in Vegas.
I read somewhere awhile back that in some parts of the country they are making a come back.
Here are a couple of links to drive-in resources.
