Try your closet. You can describe the way that you organize your clothes. Maybe you've got a particular way of arranging the way you reach for them.
Do you put your shirts in a particular spot?
Do you arrange by colors?
What's on the top shelf of your closet?
What's on the floor of your closet?
If you want to get really deep, you can talk about how the closet is symbolic for the things in your life that you keep hidden away from the world and that your intellectual wardrobe is what you choose to put on when you're in certain groups.

Part of an exam to test out of college English was to write such an essay. One of my favorite things to do when I'm feeling frustrated is to bake bread. So that is what I wrote about. I talked about each step as if I were actually performing it. I Included the smells, sounds, textures, etc. So write about one of your favorite things to do. Good Luck.
OOPS!!! I should have paid better attention to your Q. Make it your favorite place.

Hm...try writing about your favorite place, like, say, some park or street. Or describe some hero, a famous one. Think about everything you like because it's easier to write about something you enjoy:)
If you have problems, go to http://www.besttermpaper.com and order essay online. With such a free topic, there will be no problems at all, I believe.
However, I am sure you will do it by yourself, because you do have what to write about. Definitely! Books, movies, rooms as you said...Whatever. Just be original (write about some specifics of this or that for you personally) and you will do a great work! Luck to you!

I've always thought woods are both a relaxing place full of friendly animals, as much as a frightening, mysterious place, where you never know who might sneak up behind your back and scare you.
Well isn't that an interesting plot? The rest is up to you.. :)

truly the best descriptive essays are really about the obvious things in life.... try to take a new angle on how to look at it...
for instance you can write about your bedroom from the perspective of one of the items in your room... say your computer is spying on you.... what is it seeing... what is it hearing.. from the computer's perspective what is going on in your room right now..

How about a kitchen. There is so much in a kitchen that is familiar and if you describe it from the walls out it will be easy to picture. Don't forget colours and aromas.
