I live in Honolulu, Hawaii and I know that most Hawaiians/locals nowadays are Christians or follow other "mainstream religions," but many are very superstitious with respect to the spiritual realm and their ancestory. My neighbor found three stones placed in a row in front of his doorway and felt worried that this might be some kind of black magic to curse his apartment. He said the stones looked like they were not native to Hawaii (not volcanic rock). So, if anyone knows whether this is associated with the occult, just a silly prank, or a good omen - we'd like to know.

this isn't native Hawaiian tradition its an import from people brought to work the pineapple fields.

if they are all white then its good wishes and friendship.
(three times the charm)
If they are all black then its a symbolic wall to stop problems. (not a curse on you a blessing on the person placing rocks) for example if you and I were figthing. Id place the rocks to protect myself. to stop you from intruding without invitation into my life.
