My dad bought one with a ten inch screen black and white in a big wooden cabinet, it was the first telly on our street, I was five years old, I remember half the street standing in the garden looking through the front window to watch the Queens Coronation, that was 1953.

My favorite programs then was Popeye the Sailor Man and Muffin the Mule. No sexual connotations then though. LOL

Zenith 19" portable, B&W.

I bought it with my first paycheck.

Soon after, I got to see the live events in Dallas Texas on Nov. 22, 1963.

I witnessed the killing of Lee Harvey Oswald live.

I also witnessed the second plane going through the Twin Towers.

These are two events in my life I can never forget.

Don't remember the brand. Must have been in '59 or '60, a huge lacquered cabinet with a tiny black & white screen. There were only two channels then, both starting early in the evening.
