If you are his friend, then try to get him away from the pot smoking dummy. Really, the chances of him getting hooked and being like his friend is way up there. Maybe that is why he is hanging out, he wants to justify trying it himself, and maybe someone is selling him a bill of goods to try it and forget his problems. It is like smoking cigarettes, or eating, just another thing to crave and another monkey on your back. Why bring it on, just get into other things that will take his mind off of his problem.
A change in scenery for awhile might help. Move or something if he can, just get away from the temptations and his problem. Time heals all, but not with pot. It just may bring on another problem bigger than the one he has now.

The likely hood depends on whether your friend hangs out with this guy because he smokes pot or if he hangs out with a guy who happens to smoke pot.
I've hung out with people who smoke for years and I don't

Is it b/cos he is hangingout with a smoking guy that made him having problems of his life or has he started smoking too and have gone out of balance? But marajuana's effect on individuals differ as there is diffirent in brain capacity. Some people have normal brain fouction while some has light brain. It is totally up to him. I've been around people who smoke pot for 30 years of my life including lovers and I don't smoke it. Not that I'm particularly against it, it just doesn't interest me.
The decision is his.

According to statistics it is becoming almost impossible to hang out anywhere where there is no likelihood of being offered drugs.Traces of drugs have even been found in every toilet in the NSW Parliament and most upmarket restaurants and hotels in Sydney.
The most difficult thing in life is learning how to say no and think for yourself.A lot of people stumble with that one and some take a bad fall.
The one who helps them back up again is their real friend, not the one who lies down there with them.

Very likely, second-hand smoke guarantees U'll get a lungful 2.
Avoid being in enclosed spaces when he smokes, try & get him outside in the fresh air.
Difficult times do tend 2 make folks smoke more weed, but U shouldn't have 2 smoke it 2!

It's his decision to make.Doesn't mean he is going to do it.My friends smoke I just choose not to.I'm going through a difficult time in my life and that doesn't make me want to smoke weed.If your concerned just ask him are you thinking about trying it?You can hang out with a person that does something and it doesn't mean because you are around them you will try it.I'm sure it will be offered to him,he has to decide on that issue. He might say no thanks.

I know lots of people who smoke, but have never tried it. Depending on the age of your friend, depends on his will power and personal devotion to his body.

The saying goes, birds of a feather flock together. If you believe that he may start using, talk to him and be there for him. That is the best thing you can do.

if your friend smokes ciggarettes they may be more likely to try it. Im sure the new friend has offered it to him. It depends on how they socialise. If they go out alot, then chances are less, but if they hang out at home all the time, then I guess he is way more likely to see it going on and join in.

Oh Please............That is the oldest excuse in the book!!! Because he is going through a difficult time gives him the excuse to smoke weed??? Oh, I think not!!! You are judged by the company you keep.......your decision.
