Are we mostly looking for logical answers or a simple confirmation?

Wouldn't God want you to do your own research first and ask questions later?

The reason I threw the God in there was that I've seen so many answers where God is like their only two cent contribution.

I'm sorry, but as far as I've seen the bible seems to of left out a few things, Paleontology for one.

Neither. It's for entertainment purposes only. Alot of the answers are quite true and it's so much better hearing it from people who's had the experiences.
As for God? I'm sure he does not frown on what people do just as long as they know the difference between right and wrong and when to ask for forgiveness.

I thought the same thing for awhile. But then I realized posting a question on Yahoo! Answers IS research. What does it matter what order a person seeks information? (posting a question then individual research, or the other way around, or only one of these methods)

Give that man a prize, you hit the nail on the head. Quite a few come from kids doing their homework, I try to avoid them.

Example being, "i want an essay on the first world war, must be over 1000 words?"

I don't rate them as questions, more of an order.

Id say its just an easier solution than spending a long time finding the answer.Or maybe some answers you cant find on a website, but a person.

The answers given are not the answers seeked. Ask thou, if God would matter.

So, the questions themselves are the function? Or, would the answers they give be the function? Or the process of answering?

No, the questions are here so that a function of bible thumping, snobs can ask questions like yours to feel better about themselves.
