In most of the commercials, it’s a female used to attract targets of both sexes! Whether relevant or irrelevant, for any product a woman’s image is used! In most of the movies, women are used to add spice (for a male watcher)! Don’t you feel, women are being prepared and served for people?

I’ll put you with an example; a brand new bike’s ad shows its appearance compared to female’s body parts..! Advertisers using the images of a woman’s hair, face, hands, legs, skin etc, etc parts.., for their endorsement.., just like beautiful artifacts! Does this make ethics..?

U edit an image as in ‘whatever way you want’ means the image has to be an irrational ‘thing’! That’s how women are used in this industry! Do you agree? Comments please…

Thanks to everyone answered! And every one agreed! Fine.., here I'm resolving the Question! As far as the answers.., there is no good or bad..! Everyone expressed their views so as I did.

I asked this question just to know the existence of eoples with social interests..! Grreat... I feel contented a lot.

Yes, as 'nuff said?' said we have men too used in this way! But not as to the extent of any female model! And I'm not so concerned about the sexual exposures of women. Generally, we won't cut our eyes from our photograph! We wouldn't darken our friend's images, as used in some comparitive ads by cosmetic industries!

Pingu has given a nice explanation, even though some are impractical, I go with it! Coz, the one has expressed well like having a deep feeling for the problem! And I wanna say, I'm not awarding this coz she found me a male or the one's likely to be a female! It's not!

Thanks to everyone, all your answers helped me a lot!

ARE U A GUY? If yes, thanks for taking the initiative in bringing out something like this. True, a pretty face is used for everything from soaps to automobiles. And worse is as u said a women's body is used as an object & focus is on their chests, other parts of their body which is really not relevant to the advt but just there to titillate the male viewers. There should be some guidelines which the ad agency /ad makers or the company endorsing the products must follow where the dignity of the female model is maintained. Focus should be on the model as whole & no part of her body should be suggestively projected. Ad makers could get more creative and make smart, witty ads & not resort to the ageold mantra"Sex Sells"

I agree with you. Look at the entertainment industry. In movies, TV and music it's obvious that the most important thing is how a woman looks. Not so with males. In movies there are 75 William H Macy's for every one Brad Pitt but there are 75 Angelina Jolie's for every one Kathy Bates. If you're a talented man but not very physically attractive, don't worry about it. If you're a talented woman but not very physically attractive, forget it.

Is this a trick question?

Seriously, this has been going on for eons (or what seems like it). Sex sells. And I agree with you, it sort of sucks for women.

Maybe a good way to look at this is that if an advertiser uses "sex" (i.e. half-naked/half-starved women, sexual innuendo, etc.) to sell, it should be considered a bit more unethical than simply using "beauty" (the more positive physical attributes of women) to sell products, as we will all understandably appreciate beauty when we see it anyway?

Yes, they are. Men are also being used more and more.

But I don't have a problem with that. The human body is beautiful (if it's in shape...). I think the people who have the most problem with it are activist feminists. But most of them aren't very attractive, so that tells you something.

I say if you got it, flaunt it ("The Producers"). If anyone has a problem with that, I think it's just jealousy. I'm a guy and I have a very hot body, and I'm sure many other guys are jealous. Eat your hearts out, b*tches!

Love, Jack.

And men aren't? This has been going on since before my time. I don't have a problem with it. Those who participate in it are well compensated for it. If they don't like it, they can chose to go elsewhere. If you don't like it, find something else to look at.

Ethical? That's totally subjective. If women had a problem with it, I can assure you there would be demonstrations like in the feminazi movement a couple of decades ago.

Relax and enjoy.

'nuff said?

ofcourse, i do agree, and day by day, this manner of art (if we can call it art at all) develpes more and more... sure, it has a reason, i think, these days, a woman`s worth is estimated only by her body, we are getting far far away from ethics, this is not what women deserve...
using a woman as a symbol of attraction....

Yes I can't stand it,It makes me sick it is men that create this sick stuff.
As well as designing things that women use, such as vacuum cleaners and they are poorly designed, because the designers don't use them and don't have a real clue as to what is needed

I agree but I wouldnt get too concerned about this.

From my experience, women like this and dont really care.
They will think your a weirdo if you think they shouldnt be able to show off their body in sexual ways.

So its just best to ignore the subject.
