Probably not. It depends what you mean by Carbonated Soda. Coca cola will clean toilets and will also dissolve the enamel on your teeth. The enamel is white. The main part of the tooth underneath it is yellowish. People with thin enamel have naturally yellowish teeth. I think that what you describe would tend to yellow your teeth rather than whiten them.
Most whitening procedures involve hydrogen peroxide which is an oxygenating bleach. It should not touch the gums, so it is made into a paste and applied by a professional (usually at great cost!)

I wouldn't try it.
Bleach cleaners and limescale removers also leave the toilet pearly white, but I wouldn't gargle them either!

Yeah- i do it all the time. does work. don't do it too often cause wears teeth more than toothpaste- but does make then visible whiter. plus many toothpastes contain some bicorbonate of soda.
Just use normal baking b.o.s.

apparently if you leave a tooth in coke or similar overnight it is nearly gone in the morning so by the same it would destroy the enamel coating on your teeth.

Yes you can even but tooth paste with it in. Don't go too mad with it though. A bit once a day will do the trick
