ferrous sulfate is an iron supplement, I took plenty of it during my pregnancies, however it can constipate you so Colace (Stool softener) is also recommended.

It is only safe to take it when the doctor tells you to. I had to take it with both of my pregnancies twice a day.

Isn't that just the fancy name for iron? Iron is good during pregnancy if you are anemic. If you aren't anemic, prenatal vitamins alone are just fine.
