Why do people answer questions without really looking where they are?

for an example, i have seen so many answering cricket questions thinking it's Football!

Sometimes people read something different into what you have asked. It happens, that's the beauty of answers. Ask a question and see what happens is the fun.

I think the category is not obvious enough. It might be worth suggesting that the category be made more obvious when reading the question. I see that this question is in "Cricket", though - it should have been in "Yahoo! Answers"!

There are plenty of people who don't give enough care to categorising their question!

More to the point. Why is your question in the cricket section, when it obviously has nothing to do with cricket, or even sport!!

You should find that if you remove the cap, then you can check the water level, and top up the water as necessary. This will help stop your car overheating in hot weather.

ONLY JOKING.... It's because people are too hasty when replying and don't always look at the Question in which they are posting. ;)

Maybe they are so puzzled by the question that they can't be bothered searching for the right category! (Just like your asking THIS question under cricket when your asking a general question...)
