there are a total of 7. 3 left to go, probably one per year, since the actors are growing up pretty rapidly. blessed be.

Philosopher's Stone - film already released
Chamber of Secrets - film already released
Prisoner of Azkaban - film already released
Goblet of Fire - film already released
Order of the Phoenix - July 2007 release
Half-Blood Prince - The sixth film is scheduled for release on November 21, 2008
The 7th (and final book) hasn't been released for publication yet. It has been suspected it will be released next year, though that hasn't been confirmed. One candidate release date for the seventh book has been 7 July 2007 (07/07/07), based on the supposedly strong magical properties (and recurring themes) of the number 7 in the Harry Potter universe. Yet a release date of 7 July may be avoided, along with the accompanying media attention and release parties, out of respect for the anniversary of the 7 July 2005 London bombings. It has also been mentioned that Scholastic would put off the book release so as to avoid the book release from competing with the release of the fifth movie.
So if the release schedule stays on track as the above schedule, the 7th book may be made into a film and released in 2009...of course, that is just my theory!

There are supposed to be 3 more. Order of the Phoenix is supposed to be released summer of 2007 and Half-Blood Prince is supposed to be released fall of 2008. Because the last book has not even come out yet they can not start on the last movie.

There will only be seven, as of now. The 5th is set to release in May of 2007 and the 6th is set for November 2008.

There is 7 books so there will be 7 films!! J.K Rowling is still writing the 7th book so the film won't be out for awhile yet!!

The movies pretty much parallel the books in that the kids have 7 years at Hogwarts, and they've done 4 movies already.
So, three more years to go before we're all free from it's magical spell forever.

there will be three more out the order of the phoenix in december and the half-blood prince and the 7th book probably.
