lets assume that you are an employee working in some company, that company will be your domain, ie: your range of work, the same in computers, if we have a network and want to call it some name that share some spec's and settings, we make a domain with company name, then add computers in that company to it, then set any permissions or settings to the whole domain instead of setting it for each computer using workgroup

depends what kind of company are u running , or at least where you are located.

like say your company in singapore n u make local domain then it will be : abc.com.sg
