I have an interview at a pretty trendy store that sells Parasuco, Puma, Diesel et cetera.
I decided to wear all black with bronze accents. I decided against dark dress pants (since everyone working at the store wears jeans) and settled for a black peasant skirt and a black top and a wide black waist-cinching belt so I'll look fashionable but still formal.
I have a black top that is perfect for this but it has no sleeves. It has lace in the neckline though and the neckline is a little low but it's a pretty classy top, I bought it from Jacob. Is it ok that I don't have sleeves?
And should I carry a bigger tote to keep my resume and files in or should I carry a purse and a duotang. I have to take the subway downtown so I need to dress like I'm travelling too.

No sleeves is not OK generally. To be honest the decision to hire you or not will not be riding on if you wore sleeves or not. But all things being equal if it were between yourself and another person who chose traditionally professional attire whom do you believe would win out? once you've landed the job be as trendy as you wanna be, but not before. here are a few guidelines:

Carry a nice attaché case or folder to hold your resume

Find out how the employees dress and follow their lead but dress just slightly better.

Wear a fashionable suit or dressy tailored separates. don't remove the jacket during the interview

If you are not wearing a jacket but choose to wear something more casual long sleeves are a must.

Sleeveless garments should not be worn in a work environment and certainly not for an interview.

Never go without hosiery and don't wear sandals.

For an interview or business, wear shoes with a closed toe and closed heel and keep them polished without nicked heels or scruffy toes.

Carry yourself with confidence; stand tall with your shoulders back.

Don't forget to smile!!

its an interview i would dress very professionally - once hired you can dress for the store and like the staff - but until then you need to dress for that decision maker, recruiter. go with the smaller purse and te duo tang. good luck.
