Corruption is the worst type of crime. It brings down any sense of fairness, which leads to abominable types of crime.
The UK should have zero corruption in all it's public services and companies, as this is easily achievable. If it doesn't there is something badly wrong.
As far as politicians go they are all mongrels and inherently corrupt, it's true we are not as bad as Italy or America but we are still pretty bad. In fairness, the political process simulates corruption and trains these people to think in that way.
That is why, the UK led the way in it's form of government, which separates the policy-making from the implementation. This ensures that no corruption can take place (except in exports and defence contracts). What happened to that system, is anyones guess.

Corruption can be construed as in levels, from least damaging to most:
1 - personal
2 - family
3 - community
4 - national
5 - international
6 - divinely devilish
Guess where international figures like Blair belong. I guess he can be right not to be more corrupt as the devil can be.

I have not heard Blair saying such things ..
BUT .. If he has ..
Then it must be an admission , that he is corrupt ! perhaps not as some, but corrupt never the less !
