I have an iqon computer with XP home, celeron 2.9ghz, 224 mb ram, an SiS 661FX 32mb graphics card, 60 gb hard drive space, please tell me if i can run half life 2, or tell me what to get in order for it to run properly

The only real problem I see with your specs, is your video card, a modest nVidia card will work ten times better, plus it will be fairly cheap.

The basic specs will require you to have a 1.2Ghz processor, 256Mb of RAM and a DirectX 7 enabled graphics card, although to really enjoy the bells & whistles of the game Valve recommends a 2.4Ghz processor, 512Mb of RAM and a DirectX 9 card.

You are very low on RAM. It might work but you will face some slowdowns during the game, I suggest you upgrade your RAM.

i think any problem you would have would be with the graphics card, i cant run anything with my 32 mb or my 64 mb....
