Limewire is legal software.
Using Limewire to download copyrighted material or to make copyrighted material available for download is illegal, unless you have the permission of the copyright holder.

The software is legal and is downloaded for free. But the way files are shared freely, especially music and movies is not legal. We know that these things should not be free for it's a big running industry. It treatens their business.

The actual software is legal, but downloading music that is copyrighted is very much illegal. They usually don't sue people who have downloaded less than 100 songs, though.

Limewire is completely legal, it only becomes illegal when you download music etc.
The chances of being caught are damn low if you don't make it glaringly obvious.

its leagal till you downlode music off it.
my dad put it on my computer but im not gonna use it cause the artists get no money for it.
i am trying to be a singer and its great that people would get my music, but i wouldnt get paid.
there are other places that are legal and you get it for free.....
P.S. the stuff ive gotten off those kinds of things is crappy and i can tell.
and also sharing music is illegal too so.....
