What is the best way for a visitor to pay the toll on Melbourne's Electronic Toll Highways? There are no toll booths, but there are a lot of signs telling drivers that you're about to be fined if you don't figure out a way to pay the toll.

hi,

If you are driving your own Australian car, you can pay after u take ur trip.

Buy a CityLink pass before you travel or up to three days after you have first travelled.

However, if you are renting a car. You should discuss this with your car rental provider.

If not, you can go to a Shell Service Station, CityLink Melbourne.

Also, you should take a look at there website, you can even purchse ur Tolls from it, by using a credit card.

The first post if correct. Call the number you see on the signs and buy a day pass. You can do this automatically over the phone using voice regognitation.

A day pass covers you all day on the day you specify.

You can also get a weekend pass covering you from Friday evening to Sunday evening (I think).

Check out their website: http://www.citylink.com.au/

Apparantly you can ring the company or visit certain places down there and get a day pass. I believe that a day pass covers you for all trips made on the day you buy it, but you should ring up and clarify that!
