Although both impede pregnancy, they serve different purposes. One should use *both* for one-night stands.

Committed, monogamous couples don't usually use condoms. And condoms aren't very much used for oral sex (but then most young people don't consider oral sex as being "sex" anyway and it certainly isn't, spillage aside, likely to lead to pregnancy).

So: condoms were once sold in the USA "for the prevention of disease only". And since the 1980s, that's been the main impetus for their use. One is not "better" than the other: and if your only reason for asking is as birth control, pills are more reliable (failure rate less than 1%, whatever that means.)

I'd say pills for many reasons. Pills I think are more affect (still not 100%).

Guess it's also how you look at it. 1 pill per day....or 1 condom every time you have sex...
I guess it depends on how many times you plan on doing it or if you want to still be spontaneous and not want to worry about carrying a condom around. Also, there are other benefits to the pill besides sex...such as possible lighter periods or less periods. That's always a nice lil bonus if you're a woman. :)

P.S. I guess if you're a guy that's a nice bonus if your woman has less periods too. I know you know what I mean I hear you guys complain about us and periods all the time!!

Condoms. As this was posted in a teen category. If it was a person who was married asking, I would suggest the pill. However, in this day and age - condoms are the best to protect you. Not only from pregnancy, but HIV, and all the other diseases that can be deadly.

Using a condom will protect you from pregnancy. But, even more important, it will protect your life.

Personally, I suggest to use both.

Pills have a better success rate (more than 99% effective), plus condoms can tear.

using both would be a good idea. I would rather use implanon as it's way more effective than both the pill and condoms
