We've all grown up watch different commericals made by companies to pitch their ideas & items to us. Now advertisements for clothing and food are popping up in video games.

In what way are these advertisements positive and/or negative to our society as a whole?

I assure you this is no essay question. I just keep seeing geckos, ducks, & happy cows everywhere.

i believe currently that advertising has become so powerful and so subtle that we accept most of it without thinking. it is our environment. we buy shirts and bags with large logo's and 'show off' most of us own a t.v., the programs that exist are there only to get us to see ads. our newspapers are covered in ads and we still call it news. my point is that advertising is in no way positive. it creates 'want' in a society that doesn't understand the true meaning of 'Need'.

Advertisements don't really affect me much at all. They may remind me if I was thinking of getting something or make me think if it's a new thing "Hey, that looks pretty neat, maybe i'll see about it sometime." That's about it. It won't convince me to buy pepsi over coke or anything of the sort. Fast food commercials tend to make me hungry, but rarely result in me actually getting fast food, or if I do not even from that place.
However, people are for the most part stupid and will believe anything that the shiny tv shows them.
