How could we explain the fact that the Danes seem to be so happy according to the "indexes of happiness" (cf. the "world database of happiness) in comparison with the others, and at the same time that their suicide rate is so high?

because they have a assive proble with depression! The long dark winters play havok with their systems and a lot of them kill themselve. The doctors over there are able to prescribe holidays for this to try and counteract it. Or a special kind of lamp that stops the sunlight deficiency. Its actually a disease called SAD can't remember what it stands for though. However having said this Danish people during the summer months do have a fantastic quality of life nearly zero pollution and little crime make it an ideal lace to live

Life is so dull and boring when you tend to get every single thing you want so easily-- No challenge and waiting is involved.

Getting something you really want after a long time makes you even happier than having it as soon as you desire it, because in the former situation you are actually fulfilling your sense of achievement. This feeling is very important as it keeps you hopeful, encouraged to fight for more needs and to never give up. That's how I see it.

Maybe they call Danes happy coz they are well-off and are getting whatever they want faster than other people. Maybe.

What is it with you and the Danes? Two questions about the same thing on the same page? Oh, and perhaps they're happy to commit suicide. That should answer your question.

You can have too much of a good thing. When these surveys are taken do you really think that people who are not happy are going to respond positively to some one asking them if they are a miserable git? Miserable people would be more inclined to tell the person doing the survey to piss off.

Having spent some time over there I think it's because they all want new cars rather than the heaps they all drive. Oh and it is alright for more than one style of glasses frame to be available in a whole country you know!
