I agree with you 110%. I am from the USA and that is what I fuss about... Bush who has only 30% approval of the USA ppl has no right to dictate his form of democracy to the world.

Simple. Democracy has a repeating, proven track record. While those "other" forms of government. Most notably communism/socialism and Sharia law all have strong track records of failure. How bad? Well, everyone in countries ruled by Sharia law lives under grinding poverty and ridiculous levels of human ignorance and oppression. But that pales in comparison to those governments based on marxism.....hundreds and hundreds of MILLIONS of innocent people put to death, evil and depravity on a scale unknown before in human history, a complete collapse of even the most basic institutions of cooperative survival....these are the inevitable results of marxism. For God's sake (whoops, you get executed under marxism for mentioning God) North Koreans have widespread cannibalism, just to stay alive.
Democracy isn't just the best choice. It's the only viable choice. The only one that works. It's not a guarentee that things will work out. Just look at Germany. They were a democracy that voted the Nazis into power who then dissolved the democracy, lol. Stupidity and evil will destroy democracy, of course. However, democracy is the only form of government that gives you a chance. That even gives you the CHOICE between an enlightened, empowered people, or something not so good. Without democracy, there, quite literally, is no hope. None at all.

Because Bush has it wrong. It's not democracy that will solve problems, it's capitalism.
The idea that if you work hard, you will get ahead and provide a better life for your children. Of course, when you get an entire country working hard, the country is more productive. This leads to a better life for everyone. Democracy just makes it easier to facilitate capitalism. If people don't want democracy, they will vote it out.
Of course, why one would give up the right to choose their own government so they can have one imposed on them is beyond my ability to explain...

You are so correct!!! Democracy cannot solve all the problems, or even better, the type of "democracy" USA and the powerful European countries are trying to impose on other countries.... We shouldn't forget that Muslim countries have a different way of thinking and living, different culture, different cosmotheory from us.........If Americans and Europeans want to call themselves "democrats", they should respect all the above....I'm European but I don;t like this kind of "democracy"....I strongly believe that only Communism can change things....Power to the people and no longer bosses; self-ruling!

If you're bored, look at Latin American history to see how the concept of a democracy can easily be twisted to serve the interests of the rich ruling class. Democracy requires certain social conditions, and in the absence of those, it only leads to an oligarchy.
As for alternatives... just look at European-style socialism. Yum :D

Obviously Democracy doesn't help in all cases.
We're occupying Iraq, just like the East usually does.

democracy is a good idea as long as it is fair and balanced and its not. and we are human and we will fail. we lost touch with what is important. we live we die.
we have lost trust. faith in each other those same independent goals that lead the few to success lead the many to failure thers not much room at the top. and a good graft would be free time and effort to get it and how and what to do with it.

Because of his built-in parochialism. Perhaps, people can just boil it down to distinguish between "good" government and "bad government.
