It's important that your little guy gets food with vitamin C in it. Please don't feed Rabbit pellets. It lacks this vitamin, is too high in protein and too high in Vitamin D. Guinea Pigs are vegetarians so meat, eggs and milk products are right out.
What you'll want is a large bag of Timothy Hay and some food made for guinea pigs. Alfalfa is very high in protein, too, so it should be limited to treats or if you have a baby or a pregnant sow. Avoid seeds with the shells on. Guinea pigs have problems shelling seeds and end up choking. If you have some older Guinea pig pellets, you'll want to add extra Vitamin C. I do this by buying children's chewable vitamin C tablets. You cut them into 4 pieces and give one piece to your piggy a day. Make sure they're only Vitamin C and not multi vitamins. Anything else can make your piggy quite sick! Vitamin C has a shelf life of 3 months. If you can, buy food that was manufactured within this period. You do that by looking for a manufacturing date which is printed on the top of bottom of the bag.
Fruits and veggies are popular guinea pig foods. Try to avoid gassy foods like broccoli and cauliflower. Orange juice can case diarrhea. I feed cauliflower and broccoli to my guys, but it's a rare treat and I don't feed very much. They go nuts for carrots and romaine lettuce. Parsley is high in Vitamin C and most guinea pigs love it. Endive is another popular favorite. I was told tofu was bad, but the people who told me this thought it was made out of eggs when in fact it is made out of soy bean curds. The few times I did feed it to my guys they enjoyed it. I no longer feed it until I can find out for sure if it is safe or not.
That's about it. I love it when my guys wheek when I start feeding my birds as they know dinner's going to arrive soon. As soon as they get their hay they're right in there dancing through it!

A good combination of dry and wet food (dry food like pellets from the pet store, grains, small pieces of whole wheat bread, etc) and wet like carrots, lettuce, and celery. If you give too much wet though, the little guy will get the runs so don't over do it!
Don't forget to always let it have fresh water!

You should feed it dry food mix for guinea pigs and for its water bottle you should put vitamin c in it, for every ounce of water you put two drops, and a handful of TIMOTHY hay, and carrots, and mostly leafy salad or something, but dont feed it water vegetables like too much cucumber or roman iceberg lettuce because it'll cause watery droppings...

My daughter feeds her cavie, guinea pig food from a pet store and various veggies and fruits. We have discovered that he has likes and dislikes so try different things. If your still not sure buy a book about guinea pigs or search the web.

I always fed my cavies rabbit pellets ,bits of apple and greens, avoiding cabbage as I was informed by a breeder that they can't digest it well, also be sure to give it lots of fresh water. and its a good idea to give it a chunk of wood to chew on as cavies like all rodents have teeth that continually grow they need to wear them down by chewing.

Any small rodent food such as squirrel food, or hamster food, or rabbit food, they're not too pictular about what they eat. They will like carrots, fresh veggies and fruits.
They won't like onions, the might like celery, and tomatos might give them the runs
