My boyfriend and I have been going out for about a year and 4 months in a long distance relationship (though that detail is kind of irrelevant to this question) and every once in about 4-6 months he goes through a day when he is in a horrible mood and wants to talk to me then has to go because when I tell him he's acting differently toward me he gets very upset. When I ask him why he feels like that he says "It's a problem deep inside him thats making him feel very bad". That sounds creepy, but he doesn't mean that in the crazy sense lol. I know a little while he used to have depression, but he's supposed to be over that. But could that be it anyway? It's not frequent so maybe it's just man pms? I know we're all people and sometimes have our freaky outburst momments so do you think that's it? I'm asking because he won't asnwer me so I wanted know if other people get like that and shut themselves off to other people to.

Sorry for the long question. I'm just really concerned.

Well, you could call it depression, or you could call it a bad mood. But he says it's something "deep inside him," he's probably talking about a long-suppressed problem, perhaps a memory he's finding it hard to live with, possibly even guilt. If you can't persuade him to talk about it without sounding like a nag, just be quietly sympathetic. Rub his back or neck and say, "Bad day, honey? Anything you want to talk about?" That leaves the option with him. Be supportive, comforting, and non-judgmental. An offer of his favorite comfort food might help, too.

you know its really hard to answer this question just because it could be many different things. youd know better then any of us here what his problem is because you know what happens in his life. i mean it could be family problems or work. occasionally you can come home from work pretty pissed too. or maybe hes having thoughts about life and how hes not where hed wanna be ( ive seen it before). if you guys dont see each other often that might piss him off just as much. on the days that hes mad and takes it out on you he might just miss you and wanna be close but wont tell you... i dont know what kind of guy he is so i can only guess. i think you should just try to get more info out of him. i mean dont go and ask whats wrong since he wont say just ask in a way that is sorta casual you know... how was work? anything new happen? or whatever. maybe he'll answer
good luck

If you've asked him about this a number of times before and he has stopped answering you, he probably doesn't want to talk about it anymore. If that is the case, don't pressure him to answer because you might end up pushing him away (which already seems to be happening). Step back for a minute and let him come to you about it. You can still be there without putting a difficult situation in his face...his/your silence may speak louder than you think. ; )

I think that men have low periods just like us. I would not be overly concerned but listen carefully. If guilt is the motivation behind it, he will give it away eventually and then it will be up to you to decide whether or not the relationship is worth working it out.

Everyone has their bad moments and you have to deal with them when they come up. Unless it is abusive.

Just like the wedding vows say:

For better or worse
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

everyone has their ups and downs and somethings may not be resolved you just got to work it out of him ..you may not like it or may not be anything but attention.
