If you have tried all the other ways to delete the file, and still cannot delete it, this I believe is the ultimate way to delete a file, but it is not for the novice or fainthearted. Only do this after a full virus scan as well.

Find the file, and note its directory location using Explorer.
Close all open applications, and Minimised stuff.
Open a command prompt (Dos Box)
Open Taskamanger (Ctrl/Alt/Del in XP) or Start, run, Taskmgr.exe
On the Process Tab, close the Explorer.exe application
Now in the Dos Box, navigate to where the file is, and delete it using the old DEL command.
Now in Taskmanger, click File, New Task, and enter"Explorer.exe" to start windows running again.
Close everything, and reboot, file should be gone (unless it is being created by a virus)

Try clicking on the file and pressing the delete key.

OR
Make sure that the file is not "Read Only" and it is not tagged as a "System" file. You can do this by right clicking and selecting "properties" if that option shows up.

Picture files do not usually have a virus attached to it, usually they are EXE files.

If this is a networked PC< there may be certain rights set by the administrator that will prevent deletions of files.

check if you can change the name fo the file. after changing try to delete it. Or check the properties and remove read only status.
Also you can try to cut the file and paste it in some new folder and try to delete the entire folder.
If you dont see Cut and paste options then to cut a file press CTRl X and to paste CTRL V.
I hope this will work for you.

When I have something like that, I turn off all applications running in the background, delete using cyberscrub professional with the folder tree option chosen.

Right click on that file, check whether it has any read-only attributes. Clear that check mark for read-only and try again.

Open task manager, look for any program that is using that file. End the task for that program. Re-try deletion.

Keep track of the file name and location and go to command prompt and see if you can locate and delete it from there

I've had similar problems. It took norton, spy sweeper, window washer and adware to remove it. Sometimes antivirus programs miss viruses. You can get most of these as a free trial. Just google them.
