Actually we don't "feel" emotion, we experience it. The difference? Well, "feeling" is an intellectual label we put upon what our MINDs allow us to experience. The actual experience is occurring within our MIND realms, and the intensity of that energy would frighten most people too much to experience it in the raw, so to speak.... so, our MINDs feed thoughts to our brains to coincide with what our MINDs allow us experience. This reduced experiencing is given a name, and both the named feeling and the level of experience is OK with us, usually.

When it isn't OK, we become depressed, overtly angry, or indulge in copious amounts of something that we use to cope - excess eating, drinking, smoking, drugs, sex, etc. In other words, the excess demands a lot of energy to insure that we don't die, and this diversion keeps the Attn Aspect of our Apapsyches locked into the physical realm...where we cannot become aware of what we are experiencing within our MINDs.

Our senses pick up signals from our environment. These signals are then routed to the brain where it is categorized and identified by our conciousness. We then react to this "emotion" the way our brains are wired to react to such emotion.
