Would you approach them about it? What would you say? I'm asking because one time my roomate angrily remarked to me: "Do you know that you have a loud chew?"
I took that as a message to never eat anything around him anymore.

Honestly, I've never found it annoying, or gross, and I've never had a problem when others do it. So maybe you could describe why it is so "digusting" or "gross" or "annoying"?

Yes, that is one of my biggest pet peeves. I would first go to another room while he's eating, but if it comes to a point where I can't avoid it, I will confront him about it.

Just learn to chew quieter. Sometimes when I got way too comfortable, I'd chew pretty loud. So the trick is to close your mouth and chew slowly.
He wasn't trying to offend you, he was trying to be upfront and honest. If he snaps at you again, tell him that you're trying to stop, and if he still has issues, you could not eat around him, or in desperate situations, find a new roommate.

It does bother me when ppl chew really loud. I just assume that I do the same thing though and it sounds different to me b/c it's in my mouth. Tell him to shut up next time. Or come back at him with something that he does that annoys you. I've always looked at a roommate as a sister. Same fights.

I think its gross, i had a roommate that not only chewed loud but swallowed loudly too. I eventually had to move.

i would be hella embarrassed, bu tu can chew with ur mouth close and dont eat anything crunchy

obviously its a problem to hear oder ppl chew their food........and i think the best thing to do is to jus tell the person in a rilllllllllly funny way......alone,not in front of nebody.....k?????

oh yeah .. if my room mate would tell me that i would drink loudly too and be even louder when i chew. that must be SO annoying....lol
