Fear and taught behavior. The love in the Bible often gets steam rolled over by pride and justifications for being right. Be the change. Peace.

Wow, I am an American, a Christian, White, non- hispanic - But I am 1/4 Native American (my grandparent was full). I think you have asked a great question and don't take any idea that I am taking offense, because I am not. But the very way you asked the question point and blames and says that "Americans" and "Christians" are to blame. Doing that upsets people and creates a two sides argument... once you have a group of people put against another you have an argument (which is to say "I am right and you are wrong") Once people say that there is a divide and a rift grows between the two groups. Next thing you know you have to groups divided by this rift that was created by a comment someone made, or something that someone did that caused some reaction that was probably not meant to cause a rift in the first place.... Once you are part of a group, you move with the group, we all have predudice (yes i know except for you the one reading this now) but we all do whether it be economic, mental, social, race, religion... there is something in you that defines your feelings about a peticular group

Isn't this a bit of a genaralisation? I think the reason for the first maltreatment of non-whites was motivated more by greed than anything else. The people were also ignorant and really thought a different coloured person was less. I would like to think that not all Americans are racist but i must agree that ignorance or a belief that you are more important has been the reason for the most racist behaviour. look at Africa, still struggling against the ravages of colonialism and still they wont leave them alone!

Many people ,not just Americans, but people everywhere, are ignorant of other cultures. They fear what they do not understand. It's not right, but I think that's why so many are racists. If they ever took time to get to know someone outside their own culture or race, they'd see they shared more similarites than differences. And the differences would only enrich their own lives.
This doesn't just go for white people. I've known plenty of black and hispanic people who are racist, too. Personally, I think it's sad. When we bought a home, we made sure it was in a place that had many different races & cultures so our children would grow up rich in culture and not segregated or racist.

You mean kind of like what's going on in Africa right now. You forgot to mention the Irish, Jews, and pagans. I think the way Arabs in America are treated is a far cry from the way Japanese Americans were rounded up from their homes and placed in camps. Every country on this planet has a dark side. America's at least has lightened over time.

I understand what you are asking. I am half Mexican and half white and of course American. My husband is Palestinian. I watch my husband like a little boy making sure that Americans do not treat him badly. So far my American buddies have been nice to him and very curious about his culture. Many people have been fascinated by him.
I think that racism in America is decreasing. It has to because the while people are no longer the majority here.

We are raciest because we are white males who are fat, grumpy and dont give a hoot what we say or do to other people. Now you know that only "white men" are racist cause we all know that blacks were never taught to be racist. All we care is about money and we feel the blacks want it all. All I have to say is get a job! And no, you proberly wont get into the NFL, so get a real job!!!

Qur’an:9:5“Fight and kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, take them captive, harass them, lie in wait and ambush them using every stratagem of war.”
Qur’an:9:112“The Believers fight in Allah’s Cause, they slay and are slain, kill and are killed.”

Mohammed ordered his followers: "slaughter every Jew that comes into your hands"

You are way off base, America has people of all races working together. And also a few who use race to further their agendas. Welcome to the world.... it goes on in all countries. Only socialists/communists/facists condemn and/or punish all people for the actions of the few.

I can't say that about people of all religions working together, since I do not hear Muslims in America(or the world for that matter) publicly denouncing Islamic terrorism in a loud and clear voice. They, remain silent, their silence speaks for them, and some have openly supported the terrorists. Very few, very very very few Muslims have openly denounced Islamo-facists and their terrorists actions.

it would help if people took less pride in what 'color' you are. White pride or black pride whatever will end up causing you to think worse of others of diff colors whether you think so or not. Also i doubt racism will ever be eliminated as people still hate based on other older reasons like religon etc. plus some peeps will hate others for their looks such as being fat, dif color, hair style, tattoos so yea. so for instance if you say you hate people covered in tattoos then your using the same logic and thought process as someone who hates black people.
