You could have the overtemp conditions set to 50C and that is shutting your system down. If it is restarting and not just shutting down then you probably have a memory leak or you run out of virtual memory. Since Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop maintain there own version of memory space and seperate temp locations, I would not use them as a gauge of comparison. Since you did not mention your OS, I can't be more specific as to the cause.

You did say what type of monitor you are using. If it is a CRT monitor then the shaking is probably caused by a bad cap in the high voltage circuit of the monitor and not your computer or line voltage. these usually go out after a several years of continous use. If you suspect line voltage then get an UPS (uninteruptable power supply). If you have an LCD monitor then the shaking is probably caused by a bad video card.

ok this can come due to many reasons... like the there others said it cant be a voltage problem as if it was then it would have restarted while u where usin other proc heavy softwares.. let me guess u have a speaker with a sub woofer and that the speakers are placed near the moniter... the shakin is due to the magnetic interference from the speaker,,,, as the beats come the color changes,, this also means that ur moniter is ending its final resting time... the restartin may be either due to a problem with ur sound card or due to some kind of a feedback going to ur motherboard from your monitor....

Sounds like you have two problems.

First you power is irregular. Check it with a multimeter and then install a UPS.

Second your applications are draining the memory of our computer forcing it to swap. This will make it slow, possibly so slow that the music won't play anymore. Check your computer performance (ctrl-alt-dell on XP) when the trouble starts and see if it is swapping like crazy and processing a lot.

Good luck wiht it!

Are you using a playlist? Is your music player set on repeat mode? Look for options like these and change if necessary.
