Let total was -x.
24 were mutton puffs...and it was 30% of the total.
since 24 is 30% of the total hence the total is 80.
hence the No. of chicken curry puffs = 80-24=56.
she sold 3/4th of the chicken curry puffs that is 56x3/4=42.
remaining curry puffs = 80-42=38.
She gave away 1/2 of the remaining curry puffs that is 38/2=19.
The remaining curry puffs = 38-19=19. Answer.

You first need to figure out how many curry puffs are total.

24 is 30% of some number --> 24=.3x
x= number of curry puffs= 80

Total number of curry puffs: 80
Mutton puffs: 24
Curry puffs: 80-24= 56

She sold 3/4 of the chicken so --> 56(3/4)= 42, meaning there are 14 chicken puffs

14 plus the 24 mutton puffs = 38

she gave away half of that, so 19 curry puffs should be left

There are some flaws in the question: Are the mutton puffs all sold as well?

|___24___| |______70%____(56 chicken puffs)__________|

|___24____| |__sold___|__sold___|__sold___ _|_________ |

|___24____| |____|____|____|____|_____|____| give _|____ |

the chicken puff was left was 1 portion of 8.

100 percent is veiwed as 10 part
If 3 parts is 24 puff then 1 part is 24 divided by 3 = 8, therefore 7 parts (chicken puff) is 8 x7 = 56.

Examine the model again... There are 3 rows above. If you look at 'chicken puff' portion of the bottom and top row only... Left over is 1/8 of 56 = 7.

So, 7 chicken puff remains.

If the mutton puffs are sold, then the answer is 7 chicken puffs.. If the mutton puffs are not sold, then it will be 24 mutton puffs, and 7 chicken puffs.

Hope that helps! Good day to you.

1. 24 mutton = 30% of the total, or 24 = .3x
2. x = 24 / .3 = 80 total
3. 80 - 24 = 56 chicken
4. 56 * 3/4 = 42 sold
5. 80 - 42 = 38
5. 38 * 1/2 = 19 given away
6. 38 - 19 = 19 remaining
