Doyle started out as a surname, then people started using it for their sons. I can't say I know of any woman with that name.

We have a male friend with the first name Doyle. But there also was an actor David Doyle, who was a member of the tv series, Charlie's Angels.

Haven't heard it used as a woman's name.

I have a male friend who's name is Doyle. It's not a common name here either. Frankly, I don't like the name.
