OK...enough berating the asker. I think he/she gets the idea that astrology and astronomy are two different things, although....

Two thousand years ago, astrology and astronomy were the same thing. But whereas astronomy turned down the path of enlightenement to and to science, astrology regressed into the occult. It is now grouped together with noneses such as tarot cards and crystal balls. (Even so it makes big $$$)

Two thousand years ago, before astrology and astronomy split, the astrologers developed the zodiac and the sun-signs. If you were born in early May (as I was), then the sun was in the constallation of Taurus and that was what governed your life.

However, over the last two thousand years, a little known motion of the earth called "precession" has slowly rotated the earth's axis enough that now, in early may, the sun is actually in the constallation of Aries. So in effect all the astrological signs have been shifted.
Whereas the astronomers have acknoledged this and explained it, the astrologers ingore this and still refer to someone born in late December a Capricorn even though the sun was in Saggitarius at the time.

wrong section for "astrology" questions. try the folklore/religious section.

As for astronoMY, since the stars didn't change much since "ancient times", then no change at all in astronomy
