Ok, scuff it up with some 150 or better sandpaper...

Take the scratches and "feather" them...(basically, sand them away from the scratches, so that you wont have a "rough edge" and it will show through the paint).

Do the entire cabinet, (taking the hardware off, like the handles, and anything else attached if possible to remove).

Tape anything that wont come off, so you dont paint it, with blue tape or masking tape.

Now, get some spray paint, either Krylon or some other good paint. If its going to be roughly the same color, you dont need a primer. If its not, I would prime it first, so that you have a "neutral color".

I would give it two coats. Working back and forth...(Move the entire arm!!! And not just the wrist!!! IT DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!).

After that, get some poly clear coat, and spray the entire thing, and you should be satisfied with it...(take your time in all the painting and make SURE you wipe it down after sanding, to get all the dust off it)...

I wish you well..

Jesse

Use spray primer then spray paint it and use a clear coat sealer to prvent it from being sticky. Using spray paint will prevent brush marks and also give the illusion it came that color.
