The Mets have the perfect blend of extremely talented young players, veterans who have the playoff experience and a stacked farm system. Will they be the next dynasty in baseball?

Although it is a bit too soon to assume that, they have all the makings of a dynasty. They have talented young players who haven't even reached full potential yet. If the Mets pick up one or two more pitchers, they will be unstoppable. I have never seen a team more in sync than the team they have right now. Even their bench players are amazing. Castro is an awesome back up catcher. (Knock on wood) This team is going nowhere but to the top.

Well, I agree that the Mets have a great team this year. But, before you even consider calling something a dynasty they have to win at least one! Then consider it. But, you also need to take into consideration how long some of their players will be around before they retire or get traded. I know Pedro won't be around for much longer; he's been very vocal about wanting to retire early, and who knows what the rest of the team will do with trades, waivers, etc. But, if the team all stayed the same, and won this year, I guess they would have a chance.

Sorry, there is not dynasty here. With at least six American League teams that are much better then the Mets I don't see any chance of a world championship at Shea in the near future. If they end up winning a couple of National League pennants over the next several years that would be a nice thing for the Mets and their fans.

Isn't it a LITTLE premature to call them a dynasty when they haven't even started a reign? Furthermore, most of the World Series winners recently have been AL teams so I think they're up against a LOT.

No way, they said the same thing about the angels, and the marlins. When the teams win a championship, the owners dump high salary players

They are playing great right now. If they win the WS this year, maybe we can start speculating about a dynasty. I think they have a good chance of winning this year.

Maybe, but they are going to have to replace Glavine and Pedro soon, and Billy Wagner isn't young. I am still not sold on Reyes, but Wright is the best young 3b in the game.

No. They haven't won a world series with this team or gone anywhere in the playoffs. Good team, but unproven. Go Cards, Mets are pondscum

Wouldn't that be nice? We need to keep Willie and the team need sto stay focused and planted. But I agree with you, there is something very special in Queens this year.
