"Our country is founded on a sham. Our forefathers were slave-owning rich white guys who wanted it their way. So when I see the American flag, I go, 'Oh my God, you're insulting me.' That you can have a gay parade on Christopher Street in New York, with naked men and women on a float cheering, 'We're here, we're queer!' - that's what makes my heart swell. Not the flag, but a gay naked man or woman burning the flag. I get choked up with pride."
-Garafolo, co-host on Air America, 1998
"(W)hen Communist U.S.S.R. was a superpower, the world was better off. The right-wing media is trying to marginalize the peace movement."
-Another from Garafolo

"Have we gone to war yet?" she asked sarcastically, early on. "We (expletive) deserve to get bombed. Bring it on." Later she yelled, "Let's get rid of all the economic (expletive) this country represents! Bring it on, I hope the Muslims win!"
"Have we gone to war yet? We f****** deserve to get bombed. Bring it on."

A NOTE TO LIBERALS: WHY DON'T YOU ADDRESS THIS HATRED WITHIN YOUR (THE ENEMY) RANKS.

HATING LIBERALISM IS LIKE HATING HATE.

coragryph, evidently, you don't mind these quotes? That's fine, just attack me and call me a troll while giving these people a pass. So nice and smart of you!

Would any liberal care to prove that these quotes are lies? I didn't think so.

Out of context. LMAO. When you're out of ammo, go for the "out-of-context" BS. Please explain the context of Norman Mailer, Cory. I believe you to be one of the most delusioned mass-answering trolls on yahoo.

Great quotes. Really shows their true colors. They hate themselves and their own country. Air America has crap ratings. In a way that's good, but, it would also be good for more people to hear what these rejects are saying.

Chrissie Hynde is British, not American.

I could write a thousand words about the hate-filled vindictive rantings of Right-wing pundits like Pat Robertson and Bill O'Really, but I have neither the time nor inclination to sift through their crap. You obviously have way too much free time on your hands.

How about providing us some links so we can see these quotes in context?

Mailer is correct. The people who planned 9/11 were "brilliant". To pull off something of this scale, you'd need above average intelligence, at least in the planning stages. I am in no way condoning 9/11. But it was a brilliant act of terrorism that had BushCo running scared.

The rest of the Mailer quote is:

"Americans can't admit that you need courage to do such a thing. For that might be misunderstood. The key thing is that we in America are convinced that it was blind, mad fanatics who didn't know what they were doing. "

The full Robert Altman quote:
"The present government in America I just find disgusting, the idea that George Bush could run a baseball team successfully -- he can't even speak! I just find him an embarrassment. I was over here when the election was on and I couldn't believe it -- and I'm 76 years old. Then when the Supreme Court came in and turned out to be a totally political animal, the last shred of any naivete that was left in me has gone. When I see an American flag flying, it's a joke. It no longer stands for a nation of, by, and for the people."

I'm not going to even look for the Nicholas DeGenova quote because he is a nutjob.

i wager your affirming Kennedy turned right into a liberal and inspired staying the route at the same time as present day liberals are accused of advocating withdrawal style Iraq. Am I close? He did have some liberal perspectives in spite of the undeniable fact that the route he become speaking about in that speech become nuclear warfare with the united statesS.R. The speech you quoted from become his radio take care of touching on to the Cuban missile disaster. the project become very diverse from the only immediately. Liberals aren't any further another existence style. they do no longer universally embody some intense proper ideology. a tremendous variety of the persons accused of being liberal purely have one or 2 liberal stances. they frequently have some conservative stances besides. in case you believe polls then maximum individuals (liberal or in the different case) are completely prepared to stay the route in the adventure that they could see any warning signs of progression alongside the way. they are unwilling to strive against purely to proceed the strive against.

Why is it that you haven't quoted a single representative of the Democratic Party?

It's a false argument to pick some extreme opinions and then suggest they represent the mainstream of one group's opinion.

For instance, the KKK turned out to march in support of Bush's pet project - the ammendment to ban gay marriage. But only a fool would believe that anything the KKK says is representative of general conservative opinion.

If you're going to make an argument, at least try to avoid the obvious fallacies.

Im with coragryph, you spout a few quotes taken from who knows where and what context they were said and you think thats a argument for conservative vs. liberal, think again I can pull quotes out of context all night to combat what you are saying but it does noone any good. I read one of the posts and it talks about Air Americas ratings who cares about that if you want to talk ratings take a look at the lowest aproval rating president in history!!!! GUESS YOU FORGOT ABOUT THAT ONE!!!!!!

So, you pick a few quotes from public figures who were not speaking on behalf of the liberal movement, take some of them out of context, and expect us to think you're clever.

You're a troll (def: someone who posts on the internet for the purpose of causing flame-wars) without any rational argument. You just spout hate-based propoganda designed to show how much you don't even understand the people you oppose.

I feel truly sad for you, having so little life that you're only pleasure is to go around hurting people that you disagree with.

The thing I don't understand is; if these Libs/Dems hate the US so much, why don't they leave?????
Since it's obvious they love the Muslims/Terrorists so much, why don't they move to a Muslim country where they can be with their beloved bedfellows?
Why do they continue to hate, gripe and complain, yet they never have any solutions?

Poor John Skerry. So bitter, sad and confused is he. When I pointed out that the current government of Iraq is pro-Iranian, he demanded to know my sources! Such a laughably clueless chap.

Your taking quote from people who do not represent the liberal mainstream for one thing, plus I'm sure you've taken them out of context... and even so, they're just using their freedom of speech, it's their right, get over it.
