Since you already know about term limits, I'll let that part slide. But you ask a really good question about Bill Clinton becoming the Sec. Gen. of the U.N.

Alas, that is impossible. The U.N. Charter specifically forbids the Sec Gen from coming from any nation with a permanent seat on the Security Council. The position is open only to small, non-alligned nations, and rotates among the continents: Asia, Europe, Africa, The Americas, etc.

Currently, we are in the Africa Rotation; and soon we will be in the Americas Rotation. This means, the next Sec Gen will come from one of the small non-alligned nations of North or South America. And after that, we will be in the Asia Rotation. But because of the US's position on the Security Council, there will never be an American head of the UN.

Hope this answers your question.

Bill Clinton cannot run again because the 20th Amendment to the US Constitution states that Presidents are limited to two terms in office.

On taking over Kofi's job. I doubt that would be widely received as the world body generally dislikes America.

Presidents can only serve two 4-year terms.

Yeah, right. I fear to think what "slick willy" would have done if 9/11 had happened when he was in charge. Remember the disaster he headed up in Somolia, the first WTC bombing, the USS Cole, and others? Yeah, he did a great job. NOT.

I don't know about him taking over for Kofi... after the "scandal" I'm not too sure what his credibility is worldwide.

However, I saw we put an end to the two-term thing just for President Clinton... he should have honorary FDR status... four times and some.

Vote for Bill Clinton!

There actually is a good chance that Bill Clinton could go for the UN Secratary General.

The Constitution limits presidents to two terms, but there is no reason Clinton can't be made secretary general of the UN.

In fact, I think that would be pretty damn cool!
