The pregnancy homone hcg is first detected after implantation of the fertilized egg. Ovulation can vary from woman to woman, it's helpful to know what day that you ovulated on and when your period is due. Most early pregnancy tests claim to be able to detect the pregnancy hormone up to 5 days before your missed period. It is best to wait until you actually miss your period, because the odds of getting a false negative are less.

Bottom line, if the sexual act occured around the time of ovulation, then yes you should be able to detect the pregnancy using an over the counter pregnancy test 2 weeks after ovulation. However, this varies widely based upon your individual menstrual cycle.

Most pregnancy tests detect the presence of a hormone only present during pregnancy. If the hormone is at sufficient levels in the urine to be detected by the test then you'll get a positive. Yes, it can show up in the urine as early as two weeks after conception.

Yes. My first one was noticeable to me within two weeks. There were subtle changes with my body and feelings. The second pregnancy was automatically known to me, because there was an odd twinge while we were "conceiving," but I kept it to myself for two months to give hubby time to straighten up, so anyone reading all my posts who knows me...well oops, now THAT secret's out. I bet there are other women who do it too.

It is definitely possible to know you're pregnant within two weeks after sex, without a test. The test just confirms things, makes it official.

Edit: My hormones are such that I'd notice the extra estrogen, so maybe my situation is rarer than another woman's.

if you are pregnant then it is possible that a test would show positive after 2 weeks(one of the more sensitive tests). Other than this wait until you miss your period and take a test or go see your doctor.

It's possible. I found out with my first child, that I was only 2 and a half weeks a long when I found out I was pregnant b/c I had a positive home test. But it's not likely. Use a First Response test, or another one that's designed to be very sensitive.

if the sexual act happened on the day of ovulation it can, you only have a short window that you can get pregnant. if you have sex 4 days before you ovulate then chances are you arent pregnant (its possible by any means, but more often then not its a no)

if you think that you are or may be pregnant then you should wait till after your first expected day of your period and then test (if you wait a little longer like 4-6 days after you should have had your period) then you will get a true reading (positive or negative)
anyways good luck with everything
