Try double dating. If you both have similar friends, then ask her to come with you and them and do something fun, where all four of you can have a good time. Then, if she seems to have had a good time, when the time comes to go home, casually ask her if she would like to see a movie, etc. with you.
If you are unsure, then unanimously suggest the four of you do something again. Let her slowly get used to your presence.

I would personally get to know her friends and then start talking to her that way, then when she feels more comfortable around you just ask her. It's not like a big deal or anything.

Before you ask her out, have a casual conversation with her and ask her things about herself. just casual. then when you do ask her out, yo will know what she likes, and where to take her. seems the best way. good luck.
