I have no idea why no one likes Kobe. He is the most complete basketball player today second to none. He is a scorer and that is his nature. He is not a ball hog. There have been plenty of situations where he could've taken the ball himself and made the same shot one of his teammates did, but he didn't. He let his teammate do it. The 81 points did cause controversy but I don't see why. He stepped up for his team when they needed the win. If he wouldn't have done it, they would've been sayin, "Kobe and the rest of the Lakers so sorry this year." But he did it and no one gives him his props. Kobe is the best scorer in the league today. RESPECT IT!!!

During that 81 point game, Kobe took 46 shots. 46 shots!

I don't care if you make every single one of them; that's not what basketball is supposed to be like. When the coach is directing his team in the locker room prior to the start of the game, does he ever say, "OK guys, tonight, Joe is going to take almost fifty shots, but you guys over there, you'll only get two or three. Now let's go!"? No. No sane coach would draw up a gameplan where one player gets such a ridiculous amount of touches. Besides, the Lakers in order to succeed NEED their supporting cast to be able to produce. With Kobe taking shot after shot, how can you expect them to develop?

Not to mention he had TWO assists in that game. They're amazing numbers, but if you believe in team basketball and "playing the right way," as Larry Brown put it, you just have to shake your head at them.

i personally like kobe but i don't like his attitude .ok he is a complete player who can do impossible things .but basketball it's not a one man show .if i can dare to compare him to jordan ,
duncan or shaq ;the difference between all of them and kobe is that even though they all have dominant abilities .jordan and co
were and are playing for the team first . ok kobe can score 80 points or whatever a game but against phoenix during the play -offs it did'nt help much because everything was based on kobe (phonix was playing without stoudamire and was weaker but achieved a well deserved comeback to beat kobe,s (team) .

At some extent, yes.
Maybe because he is arrogant, make a lot of illogical/fancy/unnecessary moves on and off the court.
But in the case of being a ballhug?I don't think so..after all, he is now learning to pass and not to force the situation.I credit coach Phil for this..
I bet, the Lakers will play in the conference finals this year.

People don't like Kobe because he is arrogant and he tries too hard to be tough. Allen Iverson has never gotten in a fight or had one of his teammates say he is a ballhog and gets 100times more respect then Kobe. Shaq even said that Iverson is the person who he respect the most in the NBA.

because he wants to prove something that he can't do , he can score a lot, he can win games but he cannot do it alone, basketball is a team game. Michael Jordan is the greatest, but players around him makes him very great and he makes his teammate looks great it a give and take they support Michael Jordan and Michael Jordan support and believe in his teammate

He works for a few hours and he makes millions... My husband and I work our back-sides off 10 - 12 hours a day and barely make ends meet. That is the only reason I don't like him. Other than that, I don't have any feelings towards him.

I have that feeling towards all pro-athletes.

there are a lot of reasons for people not to like kobe. first of all, he sexually assaulted a girl while his wife was pregnant. second of all, hall of famers don't even want to play with him (malone, o'neal, and payton). and third, he is cocky. doesn't necessarily make him a bad person or player, but those are probably the main reasons why people don't like him. don't get me wrong though, he's an excellent player, one of the most dominant in the league, but i personally don't like his style.

Because
> He argues every whistle call against him and every whistle that is not call agains his opponents.
> He owns every success of his team and do not share responsibility for failure
> He acts as if he knows everything about basketball and tries to manage his teammates even he himself has a lot to learn.
> He fakes injury.
