I'm convinced the only way to eliminate terrorism is to meet them with force. Terrorists are beyond reasoning, and they have no sense of what the West regards as compassion, respect, or the overall sanctity of life. There is evidence enough of this in their tactics against their enemies.

Anyone who thinks that animals like this can be changed are only deluding themselves. After September 11th, it's obvious to me these are beings who sacrificed their right to be reasoned with. The only solution lies in destroying them. They have no place in civilized society.

They just want the government to follow its own laws when doing so.

It's really sad that people think it's OK for our government to ignore its own laws. Not even noble ends justify criminal means.

{EDIT} Yes, some of the soldiers who committed war crimes were prosecuted. But generally only those caught on tape, not the ones that gave the orders.

Willful and blatant disregard for the rules, especially coming from ranking officers and elected officials, only drags us down to the same level as the terrorists and tyrants we fight.

How can we claim any moral outrage at what terrorists do when we torture prisons in violation of our own laws. How can we expect our troops to even remember what we're fighting for, if we encourage the same atrocities that the terrorists commit.

If we are going to be a nation of laws, then we must abide by our own laws. If we don't, how are we any better than those we hate?

Let the military do its job. Let the fight the bad guys. Absolutely. Nobody is arguing that. But don't let them become the bad guys, because we have abandoned the liberties and the bravery and the integrity that our soldiers are fighting for in the first place.

3) Not break from previous treaties or rather not subscribe to the "Clean Break Policy"

the systems of law enforcement that currently exisist such as NSA, CIA and FBI even the state dept. to some extent are more than capable to fight terror...

the problem is connecting the dot, and the culture of such institutions.

The solution to terrorism is freedom, justice and equality. Treating people with respect and not taking one side over another will help broker peace. A two state solution would defeat one of the main grievances of terrorists. If America gave the PLO billions of dollars like Israel then they could help their own people. Working with the international community would also help in the war against terror.

Instead of bombing the living **** out of the countries we should foster non radical Muslims distancing themselves from radical ones, this will lead to increased arrests when people notice things are weird among a neighbor. Also offer aid along with food and water.

Do you know why Hezbollah has such far reaching influence? They help all the citizens in their areas get clean water, and other necessary things. The U.S. should take this model and emulate it, but obviously not towards launching missiles at other countries.

The big thing is to step down our presence in the Middle East, this will reduce the number of people pissed off at us reducing the number of terrorists, the law enforcement in the countries need to learn to deal with the threat anyways and will be far more likely to get leads towards arrests due to people feeling more confident tipping off police of their own nationality.

The larger our presence the more terrorists we will see and the more attacks. We need to atleast pretend to be trying to help them and we will see amazing results. Afterall parts of Iraq are still in the stoneage because we bombed their utilities.

This actually was semi proven to work in the latest foiled terrorist plot, there were a couple tip offs by non radical Muslims to the British authorities which led to the infilitration, and watching of the group.

You obviously missed the point, the point is to provide for the local people and help them get back on their feet not to treat them with hostility and turn a cold shoulder. I do not support the use of human shields, and that was in no way communicated through what I posted.

Really tolerance just take at the look of questions on here about hating Muslims, tolerance I see. I have read about the Qur'ans military versus since I have read portions of the Qur'an. You are deviating away from the original question.

If I may I would like to pose a question to you, I will answer it after. If we were hypothetically invaded by another country they bombed our utilities, you had no running water, no electricity, the streets smelled and were littered with rubble, no one was aiding you, your friends and family were killed. Would you be angry? Would this lead you to attack the invaders? Do you think other Americans would attack the invaders? If you were provided food, medicine, water would you distance yourself from those who did attack the invader and possibly tip off the local occupational police?

This type of question is meant to put you in their place. Personally I would turn to violence to try to rid myself of the invader who was killing people around me, but if I knew that I was going to get much needed medicine, water, and food I would be appeased and would offer my assistance in ridding the country of extremeist. Don't you think this same thing would work with Islamic extremists?
