This probably varies by state, but in my state you have to be 18 to sign any contract, including a cell phone contract. They usually want a credit card also, and you can't get them until you are 18 either. At least not in my state.

Maybe someone else can sign up for you???

Yeah I think you do but if your under 18 maybe your parents can take you to get one. My son has had one since he was 11 I believe and he's 13 now. I think kids need them these day's. I like to keep track of him and he has a pay as you go so he doesn't go over his minutes.

it varies with the provider, with TMobile its 18, but a sales person at Cingular told me that you have to be 19 to get with Cingular.
