it all depends on you. on who you hang with, on what classes you take, on how serious you are about your education, on how much you want to party, etc.
I'm a book worm, I enjoyed my classes and hung out with other people serious about education. I had a good time, worked hard, and learned a lot, both in classes and out. It was a time for growing and challenging myself.
Others see college as an extention of high school. they goof off, get drunk until they pass out, skip classes, and eat themselves into oblivion. if they graduate, it's with poor marks, and very little better than they entered.
your choice.

College life is ridicously fun, amazing and enlightening. So far its the greatest thing I have experienced in my life- but I guess thats to be expected since I'm still young. It seems like you have infinite freedom from your parents and that is such a good thing coming from a strict house. You won't have to take orders from them anymore, but on the other hand you will have to be a bit more responsible. You will make so many new friends and soon you will begin to view college as your real home...of course this is coming from a person who moved away to college. You will also be tempted by a lot of bad and immoral things but sometimes...that can be a good thing. Hehe.

College life is wonderful.

More work than you'd ever imagine in high school. But also, more fun than you'd ever imagine in high school! Many students have difficulty balancing the new heavy workload with the fun. Especially if (like me), you didn't learn how to study well in high school. My recommendation? Take some study skills classes (your school will probably offer them through their free tutoring program - pretty much every school has this) and join a club or sports team to make the most of it. When you run low on cash, find an on-campus job. For me, working in the library meant I had no option but to study, and I got paid for it! (And occasionally helping patrons, too, hehe.)
