String theory says there may be other universes lying close to ours, but in different dimensions; so we can't sense them. Brian Greene ("Elegant Universe") posits that the universes are parallel like so many slices of bread in a loaf. In fact, one string based WAG speculates that the big bang was caused by two parallel universes (ours and another one) colliding.
Current thinking believes the universe is actually flat (like that slice of bread) and round. There is both experimental evidence and theorectical results indicating that this might be true.
By the way, the answer talking about observable and unobservable universe made a very good point, which I'd like to stress. We live in one universe, but only the first 13 plus billion years of it are observable because of limits in the speed of light. We have no clue what the unobservable universe or any of those other possible universes might look like.

You have the observable universe which is the one we live in and the unobservable universe which lies outside the cone of the observable universe. This cone starts at a point and that point is the big Bang. From there we are racing outward and may never stop. We have a minute idea what is in the observable universe because we can explore and observe it using telescopes and other measuring instruments. We have no idea what lies outside in the unobservable universe. In our observable universe we are bound by the laws of physics created by the Big Bang, therefore it is thought that the unobservable universe can not be explored or entered.
Yes I believe in other life forms but only in our observable universe. The unobservable universe is nothing, therefore life can not be found in something that is nothing.

When hubble was launched, scientists made the claim that it would see to the edge of the universe! To their surprise, guess what it found? More universe! As far as life out there? I have absolutely no doubt that it exists! An average of 200 billion suns in our own milky way galaxy times another trillion galaxies that we know of equates to..."what dumass would believe there isnt?"

it is selfish to believe humanity is alone is the expansiveness of the current universe. There are definitely other lifeforms, though i doubt we will ever come in contact.
And the universe is not infinite. There is an end, although it is unimaginably big. However, the universe is constantly expanding, filling more of the void. Outside of the universe, is well, quite simply nothingness.

We cannot know what is beyond the observable universe. There may be nothing, there may be extraordinary things. It's amazing to think that even for the outer limits of the observable universe we can only observe things as they happened millions of years ago.

More universes - and ultimately, even more universes, then ultimately and ultimately... maybe the astral regions - and yes I do believe life exists out there in great abundance - its just a very, very large place

I know you... why do you so keenly suppose there is an edge to the universe? Are you proposing that there is some greater entity?... What is beyond that thing? Ooooooo... was'up! Booya on the astronomical front, bia'tch.

there is nothing beyond space expect more space. no matter what direction you go, you can keep going and never circle back around or stop going. its infinite. oddly this is something i've thought about quite a bit. its kind of one of those things that makes you feel really small.

It is not predictable for human brain. That is what we call it as no beginning or no end for the universe.
