Goodbye Lyrics:
Occurred to me the other day
You been gone now a couple years
Well I guess it takes a while
For someone to really disappear
And I remember where I was
When the word came about you
It was a day much like today
The sky was bright and wide and blue
And I wonder where you are
And if the pains ends when you die
And I wonder if there was
Some better way to say good-bye
Today my heart is big and sore
It's trying to put right through my skin
Won't see you anymore
I guess that's finally sinking in
Cause you can't make somebody see
With the simple words you say
All their beauty from within
Sometimes they just look away
And I wonder where you are
And if the pains ends when you die
And I wonder if there was
Some better way to say good-bye

Wow, tough question.
I think this is a very personal area and eveyone responds differenlty depending on how they process events.
A song that helps me deal with the subject of death in a very positive way is the song "Everything Dies" by Type O Negative. I think it's a beautiful song with a poignant message delivered in a great way, however if your musical taste lies with "the bee gees" or Britney Spears for example, then this song probably wont do anything for you.
Hope this help, best wishes.

Ok now don't take this the wrong way. But my family is all about making serious things comical so whenever my Grandfather died and that was about a month or so ago. I listened to Another One Bites the Dust by Queen. It was so fitting for him cause he was a smart *** and i inherited it. It made me laugh and feel like he was there.

Tough question - I'd pick something from her era like "Wonderful World" by Louie Armstrong or something along those lines. If she liked a particular artist/group, play that.
I recently had a father-in-law who passed away & liked big band music and martinis. I had a party in his honor & played that type of music and served martinis to guests. It came off pretty well.

SO you've had a bad day............ I don't know the rest of the words or even who sings it but I do know I like it and it may work.
Try to listen at something that has a meaning and that your grandmother would look down and smile upon when she hears you listen to it.

U2 - One Tree Hill (from The Joshua Tree)
I listened to this song over and over again when my mom died (1987 - I was 18). Meant, and still means, a great deal to me.
