someone said JB n KL sucks, but if you come from a city why bother to visit another city, you are going to see the similar things here, why not go after something that your country can't offer? Try the thousand years old virgin rain forest, white sand beaches plus wonderful marine life, cold mountain retreat, fabulous bargain shopping, amazing country side[villages], beautiful and colorful multy culture, mouth watering foods etc. For AvantG, your daughter was bored because you neglected her needs, you concentrated on your adult games ! My kids love Genting. Of course the taxi drivers really suck! but you have your choice and the money is in your hand, be smart next time around. Yes, like KenB said go round the world and compare others country with my Malaysia, its not the best but surely amount the best !

Johore Bahru is like a empty shell, nothing much inside. As i have some older friends from JB and KL, they all tell me this.
KL (Kuala Lumpur), in the one hand, has not much different compared to other cities in the world. It's a metropolitan city. The transportation there is sux, as it's always jam, especially the LRT. The MRT there has a long waiting time of 5-10 mins. The taxi driver there are very friendly and you will find many taxis charged a flat rate of RM 10, wherever the place you want to go.The traffic there is in horrible state and you have to jay walk must of the time to cross the road. Overall, Malaysia is not a very good place to go.

I travelled to Kuala Lumpur last June with my family and I must say my first impression was WOW! However, after a day there I was pretty much ready to go home. I hate how the taxi drivers try to rip everyone off. The food was okay but I like Singapore's food better but then again that was pretty much a matter of personal preference. Genting was okay for adults and kids but not for toddlers. The attractions were simple, not very world-class. There wasn't much to do for small children so my daughter was very bored. It would probably take me another 10 years to consider going back to KL, by that time my daughter would be 12 yrs old and we might enjoy it better.

The first answer looks like an american.

I first came to malaysia 41 years ago, and have been coming back ever since. I recently moved to live here. Its a great country, it has its faults but so does every country.

Get out and experience the world, there is a lot of it out there.

I'm a Malaysian & proud of it.
It's OK, still have areas to improve on but it's home.
Our weather; humid at times does not cause one to spend much money on winter clothing therefore saving on dry-cleaning bills!
It also acts as a natural moisturiser (our weather, that is) unlike other countries which have dry weather.
Overall, Malaysia is a melting pot of diverse cultures blend into one PLUS we speak better English than most of our Asian counterparts like Thailand, Indonesia, China, Singapore, Japan, etc.
