For me, this usually happens when I have too specific an idea and am too rigid in my approach.
What helps me is to begin with 'practice work'... picking a basic idea and playing with it... set no goal or concept of final outcome. Letting the 'flow' find its own course widens my creative channel and the more I do, the easier it becomes to allow the creation to take on life and depth of its own... not the static 'picture' I had engraved in stone in my head.

When this happens, i usually go to an art gallery or get on line and check out other artists web sites to see what they are up to. You may want to take this time to practice a certain painting or drawing technique you've never tried before and take a break from the normal stuff you normally do. You say you have alot of ideas running through your head. Decide which one of these ideas stands out the most in your mind and focus on just that one. There are many ways to get through a block but the one that helps me the most is going out and buying an art magazine, kick back, read, and not touch a pencil or brush. Creativity is not something one can force to come about and instead of thinking, what do i draw next, one need only look inside themselve and ask. What inspires me the most.

Work, work, work... don't wait for "creativity" to motivate you; oftentimes, the best works come from simply having just done something. Michelangelo's belief was that his sculptures were inside the rock, existing perfectly, and it was his job to find them and free them. When you understand how that process starts you can see how important work, hard labor, is in creating art. You'll get through it. By the way, if you're intimidated by making something new, getting your ideas "put on paper," keep in mind that doing what you have done thus far began by starting from scratch, so keep it fun; pressure for success comes long after practice.

Your creative side is always there, you just have to give it a boost sometimes. What I do is take a nap, sometimes doodle randomly for a bit to get the artistic juices flowing, or just wing it a few times until I kinda' get the piece I imagined, then improve on it.
(Note: lots of caffiene or other stimulants don't always help)

Whatever is going on in your life right now is probably causing you this "block."
Do something totally different then your norm. This will help your brain a bit.
For example:
1. Drive to work/school a different way.
2.Walk backwards as long as you can...be safe about it of course!
3.Talk to someone you normally wouldn't..maybe a person in line at the grocery store... ask them questions (about them)..or comment on what they are buying..you'll meet someone new, and see how they think.
Remember that there is a lot out there, and to discover YOU, you have to discover unique and different ways of thinking and acting.
Good luck! .

•Get a huge cardboard post it bulletin, and a bunch of post it and tacks, put all your ideas on the post its, just the simple general ideas. Post all your ideas on the board, and don't do anything with the ideas...keep posting all your ideas. You should get a light bulb somwhere in the process. If you don't get anything in 2 weeks, call up your friends and tell them about each idea, and if they don't have any suggestions or ideas to expand on that post note, throw it in the trash.

listening to music. or sometime leave the project alone for a bit. thinking to hard on one thing slows me down. sometime i see things from a differant point of view after walking away from it for a few mins.
a friend of mine was an art student. when she had trouble drawing she would take her glasses off let her eyes blur then just start drawing or writing she said it helped her see what she was doing wrong. it sounds odd it worked for her.
